Description

Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive pill (“morning-after pill”) used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. It contains 0.75 mg of levonorgestrel per tablet, designed to delay ovulation, and is most effective when taken within 72 hours (3 days) of intercourse

Key Information & Usage
Effectiveness: Most effective the sooner it is taken. It is estimated to prevent about 85% of expected pregnancies.
Dosage: Take both tablets together as soon as possible, or take one tablet and the second one 12 hours later.
Limitations: It does not cause an abortion, does not protect against STIs, and is not for regular, long-term contraception.
Effectiveness Issues: It may not be effective if taken after ovulation has already occurred.
Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and temporary irregularities in the menstrual cycle.
Follow-up: If your period is more than 5 days late or is unusually light/heavy, you should take a pregnancy test or see a doctor.
